What are the advantages of using phenolic composite ducts?

Publish Time: 2024-09-05

1. Environmental protection

Phenolic foam uses fluorine-free foaming, while polyurethane will release a large amount of ODS during the foaming process, causing great damage to the ozone layer. Although glass fiber does not release ODS, it will cause great harm to the health of workers during the production process.

2. Health

Polyurethane produces cyanide gas when it burns, and 2-methylacrylanilide, a harmful substance, was detected when the composite fiberglass board air duct burned. Although the inner surface of the composite fiberglass board air duct is coated with polypropylene, the glass fiber will inevitably pollute the air duct during the processing project. If the scattered glass fiber falls into the room with the air supply, it will inevitably cause harm to human health.

3. Non-combustible

Phenolic is the material with the best fire resistance among organic polymer materials. The phenolic foam sandwich panels made of it have all indicators that meet the fire protection standards of Class A composite sandwich panels and meet the fire protection standards of high-rise buildings. However, the insulation materials of some composite lightweight insulation air ducts, such as polyurethane composite aluminum foil air ducts, are flammable and produce molten droplets with fire when burned.

4. Strong temperature adaptability

Phenolic composite air ducts are suitable for a wide temperature range and can be used under high and low temperature conditions (-140℃ to 150℃), unlike some other composite air ducts, which can only be used at 50℃.

5. Wide range of applications

Phenolic composite air ducts can be widely used in various industrial and civil buildings and other places with special requirements. Polyurethane is difficult to meet fire protection requirements, so its scope of use is strictly limited, and the use of composite fiberglass board air ducts in hospitals, food processing plants, basements and other places with dust prevention requirements and high humidity is also greatly limited.
